Ulster University

Ulster University is a multi-campus public research institution based in Northern Ireland, UK. Legally known as the University of Ulster, it is widely recognized under the name Ulster University. The university’s roots trace back to Magee College, established in 1865, followed by the founding of the New University of Ulster in 1968, and a later merger with Ulster Polytechnic in 1984 that created the modern institution. In October 2014, the institution rebranded as Ulster University as part of a refreshed visual identity. Ulster operates across multiple campuses including Belfast, Coleraine, Jordanstown, Derry/Londonderry, and also maintains branch operations in London and Birmingham, in addition to robust distance learning offerings. The academic portfolio encompasses arts, humanities, social sciences, applied sciences, engineering, health and life sciences, business and management, with a strong emphasis on vocational relevance, research impact, and industry partnerships. Its mission is to deliver impactful education and research, foster innovation, and engage with communities locally and internationally. The vision is to be a leading institution in academic excellence, innovation, and community engagement.In recognition of its progress and contribution, Ulster University was awarded University of the Year 2024 by Times Higher Education.
